
Eros Roselli was born in Senigallia (Italy). He started to study the classical guitar at the age of ten. He gratuated with top marks at the Brescia Conservatory under the guidance of Ruggero Chiesa following which he has taken part in Masterclasses with Manuel Barrueco, Angelo Gilardino, Eliot Fisk and David Russell. After winning various prizes in competitions for young guitarists, he came to the forefront thanks to the prizes and awards he won at numerous International competitions, including the "F. Sor" International Competition in Rome, the International Festival of 20th Century Music of Lagonegro, the International Award "Sua Altezza Real la Infanta Doña Cristina" (Fundaciòn Guerrero) in Madrid and the Barcelona Concurso Internacional "Maria Canals". Since 1985 he has performed in concert in Italy and abroad both as a soloist and in chamber groups for important societies ("Asolo Musica", Gnessin Academy in Moscow, Innsbruck Conservatory, I Concerti del Quirinale, Derby Classical Guitar Society, Sala Maffeiana in Verona, Verona University, Accademia Filarmonica in Bologna, Gioventù Musicale d’Italia, "Amici della Musica" in Ferrara...). His solo repertoire ranges from 16th-century music to works by contemporary composers. With different chamber groups (guitar duo, duo with violin or flute, trio flute viola and guitar, quartet violin viola cello and guitar or guitar and string quartet) he plays music by Boccherini, Paganini, Schubert, Carulli, Giuliani, Diabelli, De Fossa, Haydn, Beethoven-Matiegka, Bozza, Villa Lobos, Vivaldi, Ibert, Santorsola... His performances have been broadcast by private companies in Italy, for the Italian State Broadcasting Authority RAI, for BBC, for Radio Nacional Española, for Classic New York (WNYC) and for Australia’s National Classical Music Network. With Urs Mächler Ensemble, in 1994, Eros Roselli has recorded for Nuova Era a compact disc (Mauro Giuliani: chamber works with guitar") containing the first recording of Mauro Giuliani's quintets for guitar and strings. For Italian label Classic Art he has recorded works for guitar and strings by Vivaldi and a CD dedicated to solo guitar pieces by Niccolò Paganini. A project about chamber works by Anton Diabelli has been released with English label ASV in November 2000 and another with Studies for guitar by Fernando Sor has been released by SOMM Recordings. In 2002 Italian label Maxima Harmonia has published a CD with works for solo guitar by Bach. For Brilliant Classics Eros Roselli has recorded in 2006 with Magnifica Comunità the quintets for guitar and strings by Luigi Boccherini. His arrangements for guitar have been published by Edizioni Musicali Sinfonica. In 2005 he has began an activity as composer and he has written works for various chamber groups with guitar or for other ensembles, edited by Edizioni Sconfinarte. He currently teaches classical guitar in the State Conservatoire in Mantova, where, in the period 2010 – 2013, he has been also Director. In 1984 he took a degree in sociology at the University of Trento when he wrote a thesis on contemporary music.
